uCampaign US Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Political Social Media, LLC and its corporate affiliates (“Political Social Media,” or “we”, “us”, “our”) collect, use and share personal information (“Personal Information”) which we collect via the services offered on our uCampaign mobile app, and/or the uCampaign website located at http://ucampaign.co (collectively, the “Platform”).

We take our privacy obligations seriously, and use the Personal Information provided to us only as specified in this privacy policy. Please read this privacy policy carefully so that you can make an informed decision about using the Platform. If you do not agree to this privacy policy, you may not use the Platform. By registering an account to use the Platform, and by using the Platform, you are agreeing to this privacy policy and consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this privacy policy. Please note we make the Platform available through specific user applications that are created for, and administrated by, our uCampaign clients (each, a “Client Application”). For more information, see Sections 5 and 6, below.


This privacy policy covers the Personal Information that is collected on or through the Platform, and from which an individual may be personally identified. Personal Information includes, without limitation, an individual’s name, email, street address, telephone number, geolocation information, image, gender, and other such information provided by the individual.


We will collect Personal Information when you register an account with us, use the Platform or its features to communicate or interact with others via the Platform, or register to receive updates from us. As part of the registration process, we may collect login information such as your username, password, and security questions and answers. After registering an account, you may also choose to provide certain profile information, including your age, gender, profile image, political affiliation, etc.

We may, with your permission, collect third party contact information (including, without limitation, names, telephone numbers, emails and social media handles, if available) from your mobile address book.

We receive Personal Information when you choose to connect social media or other third party accounts and applications with your account.

When using the Platform, you may send messages to other users of the Platform or to external recipients. As part of the service, we receive copies of the messages you send to, and receive from, these individuals. We also receive any communications you send to us regarding the Platform or our services.

We may also collect other “non-identifiable” information about you, such as demographic information (e.g., your age) or certain information about your preferences and interests. If we combine demographic or other non-identifying information we collect about you that allows you to be identified, we will treat the combined information as Personal Information.

Finally, we may also collect geolocation information as provided by your phone or other mobile device to the extent that you allow this option on your mobile device. If you access our Platform through a mobile device, you may adjust the settings on your mobile device to allow or prevent the sharing of location information. For example, you can disable “Location” (or “Location Services” on iOS-based devices) on your mobile device to prevent sharing your location information with Political Social Media, or only disable “Bluetooth” to prevent the sharing of information collected via nearby Bluetooth proximity beacons. Please note that if you disable the sharing of location information, you may be unable to access some features of our Platform that are designed for mobile devices.


We may receive Personal Information about you from other users of the Platform. This may happen if they connect their address books to our services, or if they invite you to use our services via the Platform. Additionally, we may also receive Personal Information about you from the uCampaign client administering the Client Application. If you have received a text message through our services, your information was uploaded to the Platform through the uCampaign client that contacted you. We will treat all such Personal Information in accordance with this privacy policy.


The Platform may allow you to transmit or share certain content or text messages (“Content”) via the Platform. We may contract with third parties to help facilitate the transmission or sharing of your Content through the Platform. You should note that other people may be able to view your Content once it has been transmitted through, or uploaded to, the Platform, and may use or share it with third parties. For example, when you complete your profile information, we will give you the option to provide certain information that will be publicly viewable. If you provide information or a profile picture to be published on your profile, this information will be publicly accessible on the Platform. We have limited control over who views your Content while it is being transmitted through the Platform and no control over who views your Content after it has been transmitted through or uploaded to the Platform, or any third party uses that are made of your Content. This privacy policy will not apply to third party uses of any Content after it is transmitted through the Platform.

Content may be published in any media or format. We may also publish your name and likeness with your Content, and we may use your Content, or any portion of it, for advertising, marketing, publicity and promotional activities. We use a technology called "cookies" to store session information. A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, which is sent to your browser from a website's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. We use Session Cookies to track your account login status. This cookie is only ever transmitted over HTTPS. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. We use persistent cookies to determine from where you were referred to our website, as well as the last user ID that you used to log in. We may set and access our cookies on your computer; cookies are required to use the Services. If you reject cookies, you may still use the Platform, but your ability to use some areas of our site, such as contests or surveys, will be limited.

The use of cookies by our partners and affiliates is not covered by this privacy policy. We do not have access or control over those cookies.

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track visitors’ and users’ movements around the website and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

We link this automatically-collected data to Personal Information. IP addresses are tied to Personal Information to better gauge our visitors’ and users’ needs and provide specific information to best serve them.

We may partner with a third party ad network to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partner may use cookies and web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other websites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out by clicking http://preferences-mgr.truste.com


We do not knowingly collect, use, maintain or disclose Personal Information of children younger than 16 years of age (“children”).

We will use information collected through the Platform to provide our services, to provide you with information you request or that we believe you would be interested in receiving, help you find and connect with your friends, and help your friends find you, for example, by inviting them to use the Platform, to communicate with you via email or messages, or via notices posted on the Platform, and to send service related and/or promotional messages to you.

In addition, we use Personal Information to improve, expand, and promote the Platform and our services; provide support and notifications and develop new features; provide you with personalized advertising and marketing; personalize the Platform experience for you and your friends and contacts; detect, prevent, mitigate, and investigate fraudulent or illegal activities; and enforce our Terms of Use.

If you use the Platform to send a friend an invitation to join the Platform, the information you provide may be used to facilitate the communication on your behalf and will not be used for other purposes unless we obtain consent from that person.


Information about your use of the Platform as an end-user will also be available to the uCampaign client that is administering the Client Application. For more information about this uCampaign client’s privacy practices, please refer to the client’s privacy policy.


We may share non-Personal Information, such as aggregate user statistics, demographic information, and usage information with third parties. We may also share your information as disclosed at the time you provide your information, as set forth in this privacy policy and in the following circumstances:


As noted above, we share your Personal Information with the uCampaign client that administers the Client Application that you use. Except as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy, we do not share your information with other third parties, nor do we share information between uCampaign clients.


We may share your Personal Information with other users of the Platform, for example if they connect their address book to our services, or if they invite you to use our services via the Platform.


We may from time to time engage third parties to perform functions on our behalf; examples include hosting or operating our Platform, sending e-mail communications, sending text messages through our Platform, and data analysis. We may share Personal Information with third parties in order for them to provide content or otherwise perform services for us. We only provide the information necessary for those service providers to provide the services and subject to their agreement to treat such information in accordance with this privacy policy.


We may share your Personal Information with other entities affiliated with us for internal reasons, primarily for business and operational purposes. uCampaign, or any of its assets, including the Platform, may be sold, or other transactions may occur in which your Personal Information is one of the business assets of the transaction. In such case, your Personal Information may be transferred.


If you choose to register for a promotion, such as a competition, prize draw or contest, your Personal Information may be disclosed to third parties for purposes of the administration of such promotion.


We may transfer and disclose information, including your Personal Information, usage information and device identifier (including IP address), to third parties to comply with a legal obligation; when we believe in good faith that the law requires it; at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation; to verify or enforce the Platform’s Terms of Use or other applicable policies; to respond to an emergency; or otherwise to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of third parties, visitors to this Platform or the public. Pursuant to valid requests by law enforcement agencies, we may also use device identifiers to identify users, and may do so in cooperation with copyright owners, Internet service providers, wireless service providers or law enforcement agencies, in our discretion. Such disclosures may be carried out without notice to you.

We incorporate commercially reasonable technical, organizational and administrative safeguards to help protect and secure your Personal Information. However, no electronic data transmission or storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Please note that we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and your use of the Platform is at your own risk.


We reserve the right to change, modify or add to this privacy policy at any time, and to apply any such change, modification or addition to Personal Information that we have already collected. We may provide you with notice of a change, modification or addition by posting a notice or a revised privacy policy via the Services. You agree to review the Services from time to time to review the current policy and any changes, modifications or additions. In the event we make a material change to how we use or disclose Personal Information, we will provide you with notice and an opportunity to opt-out of such new or different use(s) or disclosure(s).


We will retain your Personal Information for so long as necessary to enable your use of the Platform and to comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. You may choose to delete information from your account or delete your account entirely. However, please note that messages sent by you to others on or through the Platform may be retained by us or by the recipient of such messages, and we may need to retain certain information for our business records.


This privacy policy (and any claim, dispute or matter arising under or in connection with it or its enforceability) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware.
